The Art of Mob Movies: World Premiere " The Last Hit"

The Art Of Mob Movies: Pompano Beach, Florida Filmmaker And Recent Art Institute Of Fort Lauderdale Graduate, Mike Glier, Brings International Attention To The Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM), At Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) With Feature Debut, “The Last Hit”, Shot In South Florida.

In The Freshman, Marlon Brando introduces Mathew Broderick to the real Mona Lisa, hanging on his living-room wall. In “The Last Hit”, director Mike Glier, introduces the world to the maverick-artist, Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr., in a cameo, with dialogue, playing a homeless war-veteran and takes the audience through the Labyrinth of Creativity in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, where the provocative artist, described as, “The Howard Stern Of The Art World”, by mainstream media outlets, creates performance art, Happenings, film and modern-art-gonzo-journalism, a fusion of Salvador Dali’s cryptic vision melted with Hunter S. Thompson’s gonzo journalism style of parody-reporting.

The thrilling, final fifteen-minutes of the film about an elite killer for the local crime syndicate, played by Louis Pappas, who struggles to stay alive as an odd assortment of hired mercenaries and mob goons try to hunt him and his young female target, played by Maya Juchtman, into an early grave, echoes the collaborative spirit of Alfred Hitchcock and Salvador Dali in “Vertigo” and “Spellbound”, where fine-art was used to create mood and effect in both film classics. Glier shoves the shocking art of  “Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo” into perspective, with every passing minute of tension, as the hunters become hunted, in a beach house, filled with stark canvas and dread.

The reduction of incentives for film and television producers in South Florida has not stopped independent filmmakers like Glier, Pappas and producer, Todd Bruno, from carrying the banner of creativity and waving it proudly in cooperation with the Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM), an international coalition of artists, musicians, filmmakers and professionals using art, music, movies and mixed media events to raise awareness about social issues not normally covered by mainstream media and introduce new talent, using cutting edge technology.

The film had its' world premiere Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Cinema Paradiso, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Was screened at The Sunrise Civic Center October 28th and will show at Cinema Paradiso , Friday, November 1st @ 5:30pm and in Pompano Beach @ Muvico on the 7th at 6PM.

The Art of Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr featured in “The Last Hit”: “Woman”, “The Backpacker”, “Live.Love.Flow.”, Immaculate Conception”, “Jolly Couple”, “Sex. War. Peace”,  “Circles”, Bird Woman”, “The Attorney”, Dead Bug on a Sponge”, Immaculate Conception”, “Piensa Prensa a/k/a The Face”, “Muse from Haiti”, “You Dared me to Love You”, “Sunflower”, “Success for Kids”, “Town Hall Meeting”, “World Cup”, “Cuba”, “I Saw the Most Beautiful Sunset in My Life…”, “Court Reporter”, “Fist of Peace”, “Midnight Cult Movie Series. a/k/a The Baker Act”, “Bleeding Woman”, and “Love”.

Walking Black While in a Hoodie While Eating Skittles

Painting the "Diary of the World on Canvas", Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. created this piece live on the Byron Eggers Show with H. Love and Billy Hitz to the live performance of the Hard Rock Band Behold the Wolf with lead singer: Vinnie D, guitarist Mitch Tanne (formerly of Iron Maiden and Jackson Browne) and Dan Thee on percussion. Co-Director of The Modern Art Music Movement, Christine Alfonso, was also a featured guest.  In the news Geraldo Rivera seemed to blame Trayvon Martin for wearing a Hoodie on his fatal trip to the convenience store for some Skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea.  The square notes taped to the piece are lyrics from Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows" read by Victor-Hugo on air.  This piece was created live in the studios of WPBR, Lake Worth Florida, using architectural building plans for a cancelled project to build a Veterans Hospital. More "Broken Dreams".  The Maverick Artist can seen at his presentation on "Modern Art Gonzo Journalism" April 28th 4pm @ The Deerfiled beach Public Library Percy White Branch, 837 East Hillsboro Blvd. Contact Global Marketing Alliance for rights to reproduce this fine art piece from the MAMM JAM Series: : GlobalMarketingAlliance@yahoo.com
